Hot Spiced Wine

1 bottle of red wine
8 tablespoons brown sugar
1 large orange peel
1 large grapefruit peel
10 whole cloves
2 cinnamon sticks

*optional garnishes: cinnamon sticks; orange rounds; orange rinds

Combine the entire bottle of wine with the brown sugar in a saucepan, and warm over medium-low heat while stirring continuously until sugar is fully dissolved. Add in all of the remaining ingredients and heat the wine on the lowest heat setting for 20-25 minutes. You do not want to let the wine boil. Strain the wine through a fine sieve and pour into 4 individual serving glasses. Serve with an optional garnish. Makes 4 servings.
