Holiday Pumpkin ‘Butter’
1-3/4 cups solid pack pumpkin puree
1 cup applesauce
3/4 cup apple juice
1/2 cup brown sugar
2 teaspoons pumpkin pie spice (or to taste)
Add all of the ingredients into a saucepan over medium heat. Bring mixture to a boil while stirring frequently. Once mixture comes to a boil, immediately reduce heat, and simmer for approximately 1-1/2 hours. Mixture will reduce during that time. Transfer into a glass or ceramic container, cover and keep chilled in the refrigerator until serving.
